We are excited about the upcoming Kinney Family Reunion and we hope that you will be part of it!  The planning committee wants as many of us as possible to come and all are welcome.  Maybe we can suggest ideas which will make your participation a go!

Here are the details:

Theme:  Mainely Kinneys – Reconnections 2023

Time:  Tuesday August 1- Sunday August 6 (check-in 4pm, check-out 11am)

For Further Details about Staying at Nicatous Lodge :

Description:  Nicatous Lodge and Cabins is a traditional Maine Camp on a remote lake off a well-maintained dirt road. There is one lodge which has 7 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and 7 smaller log cabins with different configurations. In total there are 22 bedrooms and 37 mattresses, along with two tent platforms!

There is lawn space, picnic tables and screened porches as well as an outdoor fire pit.  The site is over 2 acres with 2 horse shoe pits and room for other ‘lawn’ or active games.   The camp is situated on a stream and lake with lake views. There is a commercial kitchen in the lodge and several small kitchens in some of the cabins.

On-site there are 3 canoes and 5 kayaks free to use with other boats/motors available for rent. The water at the dock is about 16’ deep, and there are multiple beaches around the lake reachable by boat. The lodge has WiFi and there are televisions as well as some limited free washer/dryer services.

For guests traveling by car, they recommend bringing sheets and or sleeping bags, and towels. They provide pillows, blankets, and covers. They have 2 sets of sheets for every bed on the property so if guests are flying in, they can certainly provide those as well as bath and beach towels (there is an additional cost of $20 for the week).

The closest stores are in Howland (convenience stores and a Dollar General) with the closest grocery being Orono’s IGA.   Howland is about a 65 minute drive, and Orono is about 70 minutes.  The closest urgent care is in Lincoln, which is about a 50 minute drive. Bangor stores are at least 80 minutes.

Cost for lodging: (this is a price subsidized by an anonymous donor so if you can afford more that would be appreciated)

  • $75 per person/per night if people will be staying only 1-3 nights.

  • $230 per person (total)  if staying more than 3 nights.

  • Food:  TBD but we can keep it reasonable.
